Forest of Dean Walking for Health has been offering easy walks throughout the Forest for more than a decade and you may have seen information about us while in your GP's waiting room. We have 14 weekly walks throughout the Forest, led by volunteer Walk Leaders, which each last up to 1 hour and are followed by refreshments. The aim is to encourage people to be more active in a friendly social setting.
Regular walking has been shown to help prevent diabetes, heart problems and several other health issues and many walkers say the mental benefits of social contact are even more important to them.
Because the walks are free we need money to publicise them, to print posters and to train our Walk Leaders so by joining our lottery you will help get the word out about our lovely walks. If you already walk with us, it is a way of saying 'thank you'.
We hope you will want to support us and wish you good luck if you do!
With thanks and best wishes
